With Mortenax Blade’s limited-time banner in Honkai Star Rail going live, many will add the character to their collection. After getting the unit, you can also get his signature light cone and Eidolons to enhance his fighting prowess. Since there is a possibility that some players don’t have enough pulls to get every power-up for Mortenax Blade, they might want to know which one is worth the Jades.
While Mortenax Blade’s E1 is quite strong, pulling his signature light cone (S1) proves to be more valuable in Honkai Star Rail. Here’s why.

Exploring why you should be getting Mortenax Blade’s S1 in Honkai Star Rail

If you want to know what effects Reforged in Hellfire, Mortenax Blade’s signature light cone can grant, refer to the following section:
- Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 30%. At the start of the wearer’s turn, they regenerate a fixed amount of 20 Energy. This effect can trigger 1 time each wave. After the wearer uses a Skill Attack, inflicts the target with the “Purgatory” state, lasting for two turns. While in the “Purgatory” state, CRIT DMG taken by the target increases by 30%, and CRIT DMG taken from the wearer additionally increases by 30%.
First off, Mortenax Blade is not like other Nihility characters. He can deal damage and debuff the enemies simultaneously, which ultimately boosts his own and allies’ DMG output. Like most signature light cones, the one for this Stellaron Hunter enhances some parts of his kit, making him fiercer in a battle. Furthermore, the LC boosts Mortenax Blade’s HP by a substantial amount, which is quite beneficial for the character as his abilities scale with the aforementioned stat.

On top of that, the 5-star piece of gear can boost both his CRIT Rate and DMG against targets that get hit by his skill, while also regenerating a fixed amount of Energy every turn. On the contrary, Mortenax Blade’s E1 (First Eidolon) offers All-Type RES PEN against all enemies when his ultimate’s zone is active. Furthermore, it also delays Infinite Fury action when the Stellaron Hunter triggers his Talent’s extra skill.
When you compare the effects of Mortenax Blade’s signature light cone and first Eidolon, the former proves to be more useful, as the buffs are exceptionally strong. If you want to pull his Eidolons, it’s better to aim for E2. However, if you only have enough pulls for one 5-star, be it a copy of LC or the character (Eidolon), then you should be getting his S1 in Honkai Star Rail 4.3.
