Team India star Virat Kohli made a young fan’s day by signing an autograph on a special poster ahead of the upcoming second ODI against England. The 37-year-old signed the placard before posing for pictures with the fan and his family.
The video of the heartwarming moment was posted by a journalist on social media on Wednesday, July 15. The poster that the young fan carried for Kohli read:
“Virat you taught us resilience and discipline.”

Virat Kohli returned to action in the ODI series of the England tour earlier this week. He missed India’s previous three-match ODI series against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury. However, he endured a disappointing comeback, falling lbw to Jofra Archer after scoring five off six balls.
Despite his early dismissal, India secured a six-wicket victory. Shubman Gill scored 80 off 75 before being retired hurt due to cramps. All-rounders Axar Patel (57* off 52) and Washington Sundar (52* off 63) hit unbeaten half-centuries to help the visitors chase down 259 in 45.2 overs.
“Happens at times when you come to play international cricket after a long gap” – Ambati Rayudu on Virat Kohli’s early dismissal in ENG vs IND 2026 1st ODI
Former India batter Ambati Rayudu feels Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the first ODI was due to him playing competitive cricket after a long break. The seasoned campaigner missed a full-length ball and was trapped plumb in front.
The cricketer-turned-commentator suggested that Kohli will be back to his best once he plays more matches. Rayudu told Sony Sports Network:
“It happens at times when you come to play international cricket after a long gap, or if you come to play against extra pace. Your vision is always on the length. You miss the fuller ball at times. When he plays a little cricket, he will hit this ball easily through midwicket. Just like Shubman Gill hit a four, Virat Kohli will also be seen hitting that.”
The second ODI between India and England will be played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Thursday, July 16.
