Triple H reacts to the shocking title change that happened on WWE SmackDown as huge WrestleMania 42 match is confirmed

Triple H reacted to the shocking title change that happened on WWE SmackDown on 27th March, effectively changing the landscape of WrestleMania for a few superstars.

This week on SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes’ US Title open challenge was answered by Sami Zayn. To provide some background, Nick Aldis informed Trick Williams that due to how impressive he has been in the last few months on SmackDown, he will be getting a match at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Concurrently, Aldis broke the disappointing news that Sami Zayn wasn’t in the plans for WrestleMania. The former Intercontinental and US Champion vowed to find his way to WrestleMania 42, and that effectively served as the motivation to answer the open challenge. Trick Williams, who has been beefing with Sami Zayn a bit, decided to be there at ringside. Williams’ role was a direct one, as he accidentally struck Carmelo Hayes, allowing Sami Zayn to take advantage and become the new US Champion in a shocking moment on SmackDown.

Triple H responded to the title change by saying, “New Champion. New Challenger.” What Triple H was referring to, of course, was the fact that Nick Aldis informed Sami Zayn after his title win that he would be facing Trick Williams at WrestleMania 42.

One has to feel for Carmelo Hayes, who has been an incredible US Champion, only to have his spot and momentum derailed heavily with less than a month to go until WrestleMania 42. Considering how he lost his title, one can only imagine that he might try to wiggle his way into the United States Championship picture to make it a Triple Threat match.

If “The Mad Dragon” Ilja Dragunov also decides to get involved, we doubt that many fans are going to complain about receiving a guaranteed match of the show at WrestleMania 42.
