Threads users can now add digital stickers to their profile bio section, which could provide another way to make profiles stand out in the app.
As shared in this example from Threads user @vlaad, users can now include stickers, both animated and non-animated, within the bio section. That will provide all-new presentation options, and could see Threads profiles get a lot more colorful, and a lot more active, in future.
The update is an expansion of animated stickers in posts, which Threads added earlier this year. Threads users seemed excited about that for a few days and posted a range of animated words using letter stickers in posts. But since then, most users have apparently lost interest, which could be what happens with this update as well.
But then again, because these stickers live in the bio section, they’ll likely stick around for longer, since people are less likely to be regularly updating this display.
So again, there could soon be a lot of wriggling, fidgeting Threads profile bios, which harks back to the MySpace era, when animated images were a major trend.
