Earlier today, Redmi unveiled the Note 17 and Note 17 Pro in China. The former has the model number 26021RN18C. Meanwhile, in the latest HyperOS firmware build, references to a Poco M8 Power have been found, and this one has the model number 26021PC18I.
Let’s unpack that. “RN” stands for Redmi, “PC” stands for Poco. The last character in the model number denotes the region it’s intended for – “C” is for China, “I” is for India. So, with all of that in mind, it certainly looks like the Poco M8 Power is headed to India at least – of course it could also be offered in other markets, but it’s definitely coming to India.

Redmi Note 17
Based on the model number, the Poco M8 Power is almost certainly going to be a rebranded Chinese Redmi Note 17. Whether this means that the global and/or Indian Redmi Note 17 will have different specs compared to the Chinese one remains to be seen – it’s not above Xiaomi’s various sub-brands to market the same device in the same market under multiple names.
But the Poco M8 Power should pretty much inherit the specs of the Chinese Redmi Note 17. If that happens, then expect it to sport a 7-inch 1080×2396 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,800-nit peak brightness, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC, 6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, a 50MP main camera, an 8MP selfie camera, and an 8,000 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.
