The New York Rangers hit the ice for their first preseason game of 2026, dressing a mostly AHL roster to kick things off. Teams are balancing new lineup rules for the preseason this year and it seems the Devils and Rangers are taking different approaches. The Rangers are dressing just a couple of players with significant NHL time, mostly depth players, while the Devils appear to be dressing most of their NHL team.
