Day 8 (Monday, April 27) of the Madrid Open 2026 features a mix of men’s singles third-round matches along with women’s singles fourth-round matches. Defending champions Casper Ruud and Aryna Sabalenka will be in action on Monday.
Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Alexander Zverev, and Daniil Medvedev are some of the other big names in the mix. Here’s a quick look at the predictions for all the singles matches set for Day 8 of the Madrid Open:
Thanks for the submission!
#1. Alexander Zverev vs Terence Atmane
Zverev fought past Mariano Navone in three sets to make the third round of the Madrid Open, while Atmane beat Miomir Kecmanovic and 30th seed Ugo Humbert in straight sets. This will be the first career meeting between them.
Zverev has a 22-7 record this season and has reached the semifinals of all Masters 1000 tournaments this year as well. The Madrid Open is also one of his most successful Masters 1000 events, with a 26-6 record and two titles. While Atmane has given a decent account of himself on his Madrid debut, his 9-9 record for the season makes him the underdog in this contest.
Winner: Alexander Zverev
#2. Mirra Andreeva vs Anna Bondar

Andreeva dispatched Panna Udvardy and Dalma Galfi in straight sets to reach the fourth round. She improved her record for the season to 23-7. She won the Linz Open at the start of the clay swing and followed it up with a semifinal in Stuttgart. She has also reached the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open for the past two years.
Bondar hasn’t lost a set en route to the fourth round as well. She already knocked out a top 10 player, Elina Svitolina, in the second round. She has a 12-9 record this year, with a 7-2 record on clay. She also upset Andreeva in straight sets at the Lausanne Open 2023, their only prior encounter. However, the teenager’s current form makes her the favorite to win on this occasion.
Winner: Mirra Andreeva
#3. Marta Kostyuk vs Caty McNally
Both have ousted a top 10 player to make the fourth round. Kostyuk beat fifth seed Jessica Pegula 6-1, 6-4 in the previous round, while McNally scored a 6-4, 6-1 win over 10th seed Victoria Mboko in the second round.
Kostyuk is currently on a seven-match winning streak, having won the title in Rouen prior to the Madrid Open. She beat McNally in three sets on her way to the title, their first career meeting. Given her form, a similar outcome wouldn’t be surprising in the least.
Winner: Marta Kostyuk
#4. Daniil Medvedev vs Nicolai Budkov Kjaer

Medvedev needed three sets to get past Fabian Marozsan in the previous round, while qualifier Budkov Kjaer easily beat 31st seed Denis Shapovalov 6-2, 6-1. The latter is through to the third round on his Masters 1000 debut. This will be the first meeting between the duo.
Medvedev has a 20-6 record this year, while Budkov Kjaer has a 2-4 record. He hadn’t won a main draw match at the ATP level prior to the Madrid Open. The Russian has made at least the fourth round here for the past three years. He will be expected to maintain that streak given his opponent’s results this year.
