WWE hazard pay is not enough for members of the crew to travel to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel
Thanks for the submission!
As per a report by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE‘s trip to Saudi Arabia is going to happen, but there was a crisis. The show is set for this weekend at Crown Jewel, but it has not been easy for the company to get people there. The crew members going to the show are being offered additional hazard pay for making the trip. Traditionally, this is something that has not been offered to the crew for their usual responsibilities.
Despite the money being offered to those who are making the trip, several members of the crew decided to opt out of going to the country at this time. As per the sources in the report, the amount being offered is around $3,000.
Hazard pay is usually offered only when there is actual danger for those doing the work. WWE has been forced to make the offer here due to the prevailing sentiment against the show at this time given the attacks on airports and casualties over the past few months.
As of now, there’s no reason to believe that Crown Jewel will be canceled, but fans are not optimistic about the event taking place in Riyadh amid all the issues in the country. The US Embassy has already advised non-essential personnel to leave the country as well, which makes the company’s decision even more controversial.
