The Xiaomi 18 Ultra, which was rumored to debut in December this year, has reportedly been cancelled. According to a new leak, Xiaomi will launch only three smartphones as part of its upcoming 18 series.
In a post on X, tipster Kartikey Singh claims that Xiaomi will not launch an 18 Ultra this year. According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will instead sit at the top of the company’s upcoming flagship lineup.

However, this does not necessarily mean Xiaomi has abandoned the Ultra model altogether and we could see a Xiaomi 17 Ultra successor next year. The company is likely skipping the Ultra variant this year due to rising memory and storage costs.
The tipster also claims that vivo and Oppo will keep their upcoming Ultra smartphones exclusive to China.

While the vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra were launched in global markets, their successors, the vivo X500 Ultra and Oppo Find X10 Ultra, may not receive global releases if the rumor turns out to be true.
vivo has traditionally limited its Ultra models to the Chinese market, but that changed with the vivo X300 Ultra, which was launched in several global markets.

If the latest claims are accurate, keeping the upcoming Ultra phones exclusive to China will disappoint users in other markets who were hoping to get their hands on the new models.
