The Rangers keep getting points and are now back in the thick of things. They have quickly moved up three spots in the standings and now have a change to leap frog two more teams, including the Montreal Canadiens, whom they face tonight. Both Montreal and the Rangers are on a back to back, but the Rangers did have to travel after their win over Columbus last night.
Montreal blew a big lead to Toronto last night, but they are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, one point better than the 6-2-2 Rangers in their last 10 games. Like most of the teams they’ve passed and need to pass, the Rangers are a better team on paper, but it’s about executing and playing their game. Their team defense has been much better, which was the missing link for a while.
