Rangers avoid disaster with Artemi Panarin injury, out day to day

Per Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers dodged a bullet with the Artemi Panarin injury. Panarin left the preseason win over the Devils with a lower body injury and did not return. Leaving the game felt precautionary at the time, since he was able to skate and there was no serious news about it during the game. Since he’s just day to day, it’s expected he will be in the lineup for the opener next week.

Brennan Othmann is skating in Panarin’s spot alongside Vincent Trocheck and Alexis Lafreniere at the moment, and it seems like he will play there in tomorrow’s preseason finale. Othmann hasn’t shown much in the preseason, but this will be his first time on a purely offensive line.
