Raul Rosas Jr. came out as the victor in a huge battle against Raoni Barcelos at UFC Vegas 121. The 21-year-old, who holds the record for being the youngest fighter signed by the UFC, continued to impress with another win.
Rosas Jr. won the fight in rather bizarre circumstances as Barcelos went limp in the final round, and needed serious medical attention. While the Brazilian seems to be fine now, he did cause a lot of damage to Rosas Jr.
The 21-year-old posted a picture on social media showing the injuries to his face, but had a thankful message for all that he achieved:
“21 years old. 7-1 in the UFC. Main events. God is Great”

Rosas Jr. seemed to be losing the fight after Barcelos got his second wind in the fourth round. However, the bizarre finish handed the 21-year-old his sixth straight UFC win.
Rosas Jr’s only loss in the UFC came at the hands of Christian Rodriguez in his second UFC fight. He’s since won all his fights and also earned three post-fight bonuses as well.
While there was a lot to celebrate for Rosas Jr, the 21-year-old also wanted fans to pray for Barcelos after the fight’s finish.
UFC provides update on Raoni Barcelos
While there were conflicting reports on Raoni Barcelos’ condition after the fight, the UFC provided an update on the Brazilian.
The UFC confirmed that Barcelos was quickly transferred to a trauma center, and the Brazilian seemed to be fine for now:
“The hospital medical team conducted a CT scan and comprehensive assessment, and he is currently being monitored. Barcelos is stable, alert and responsive, with full movement. He will remain under medical supervision. We will provide updates on his condition as they become available.”
Barcelos’ coach, Davi Ramos, also provided an update on the fighter before the UFC shared one. Ramos also said that the fighter was doing well, and there was nothing to worry about.
