Popular streamer Zack “Asmongold” has once again found himself at the center of controversy after doubling down on his comments about using lethal force against people attempting to cross a country’s borders. Following his recent Twitch suspension, the streamer addressed the backlash during a YouTube video titled “Why I’m gone” and made it clear that he does not intend to “apologize for nothing”.
In a clip from his video shared on X by user @AutisticClip, Asmongold acknowledged that some criticism against him could be valid, particularly regarding the way he presents his opinions. However, he maintained that he stood by his broader comments about border security. He said:
“I think that there are definitely criticisms people have of me that are valid, where, like, I probably do dial it up a little bit too much, and maybe I could use different rhetoric, etc.”
However, Zack then made it clear that he would not retract his position and argued that borders should be protected with lethal force in certain circumstances. He added:
“But I want to let you know that I apologize for nothing. I meant exactly what I said, and I think that these borders should be defended with lethal force whenever it’s being invaded by 40 to 60 thousand people at the same time.”
Asmongold went on to argue that large numbers of people entering a country could put citizens at risk and said:
“That’s an incredibly dangerous thing for all the people that live in that country, and I don’t think that the government has an obligation to allow a bunch of invaders to pour over and potentially kill their own citizens. I find this to just be horrible. And ultimately, it should be stopped.”
Asmongold reveals his Twitch suspension is for two weeks
In the same video, Zack also addressed his recent Twitch suspension and revealed that the ban is currently set to last for two weeks. A separate clip shared on X by @Awk20000 showed the streamer discussing his suspension and saying that he may appeal the decision in an attempt to reduce the length of the ban.
Asmongold said:
“I got suspended for two weeks. I’ll probably try to appeal it, see if I can get it down to a week. We don’t really know. If not, maybe I’ll stream on Kick or something. Maybe I’ll just take a vacation. I’m not really sure. I haven’t decided yet.”
