Adam Schefter is hailed as one of the NFL’s foremost insiders, but even he wants to have some humor sometimes. Unfortunately, his latest joke has made him an enemy of the fanbase he is supposed to be serving.
During Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, the ESPN insider posted this image of a banner that was hung inside Rocket Arena commemorating Taylor Swift’s attendance in Game 3 two days ago:

Fans, hwerver, immediately recognized it as having originally come from podcaster Chris McNeil. Predictably, they were not amused at this seeming “plagiarism”:

The Knicks won the game 130-93 to complete a series sweep. Guard Jalen Brunson was named ECF MVP despite scoring only 19 points.
Adam Schefter dismisses A.J. Brown trade rumors, provides update on Lions contract extensions
Back to the NFL, Adam Schefter has provided some new updates on the player market.
While it has seemed likely that star wideout A.J. Brown will become a New England Patriot in June, other teams have been linked to him. For Schefter, however, one can rule out the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Los Angeles Rams. He said last week on his eponymous podcast (segment starts at 10:11 in the video below):
“I was on a Philadelphia radio show this morning. They brought up the idea that the Rams could be getting back in. They brought up the idea that the Jaguars could be getting back in. … There were conversations with the Rams that did not result in a deal. I don’t know about Jacksonville, I don’t even know where that’s coming from.”
Then, on Friday, he stopped by Pat McAfee’s eponymous show to give an update on the Detroit Lions‘ roster management, especially when it came to contract extensions:
“I think this is a whole work in progress, because there are a lot of players that have to get paid there. Jahmyr Gibbs, I would think, would be next. … The Lions will want to sign Sam LaPorta, who’s tremendous in that offense, great player.”
One player whom the Lions have extended this offseason is linebacker Jack Campbell, who agreed to $81 over the next four years in lieu of his fifth-year option.
