Day 5 Predictions ft. Madison Keys vs Yuliia Starodubtseva, Diane Parry vs Alina Charaeva

A spot in the final is up for grabs on Day 5 (Saturday, May 16) of the WTA 125k Paris 2026. Former Australian Open champion Madison Keys, the biggest name in the draw, is still on course to claim the title.

Yuliia Starodubtseva, Diane Parry, and Alina Charaeva are the other three semifinalists. Here’s a quick look at the predictions for both the singles semifinals set for Day 5 of the WTA 125k Paris:

#1. Madison Keys vs Yuliia Starodubtseva

Keys hasn’t lost a set throughout the WTA 125k Paris so far, scoring routine wins over Fiona Ferro, Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah, and Anastasia Zakharova. Starodubtseva’s path to the last four included wins over Taylah Preston, Zhang Shuai, and Katie Volynets. Her quarterfinal match against Volynets was a three-set affair.

Starodubstseva leads their rivalry 1-0. She won their previous meeting at last month’s Charleston Open in straight sets, ousting Keys in the semifinals. This is the best result for both players since then. Keys has a 7-2 record on clay this year, while Starodubtseva has a 10-4 record.

Keys is quite adept at playing on slow clay, evident by a semifinal showing at the French Open and a runner-up finish at the Italian Open. An illness forced her out of the Madrid Open a few weeks ago, and she wasn’t at her best when she returned to the tour at the Italian Open. However, she’s rounding into form in Paris this week, which could diminish the talented Starodubtseva’s chances of winning.

Winner: Madison Keys

#2. Diane Parry vs Alina Charaeva

Parry kicked off her campaign with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Beatriz Haddad Maia, and then needed three sets to deal with compatriot Chloe Paquet. She received a walkover from Yulia Putintseva to make the last four.

Charaeva booked her spot in the main draw of the WTA 125k Paris with a win over Alice Tubello. She upset fifth seed Sara Bejlek in the first round, fought past fellow qualifiier Tamara Korpatsch in three sets, and beat Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-4, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

Parry leads their rivalry 1-0. She won their previous meeting at Wimbledon 2025 in straight sets. Parry hadn’t won a match on clay prior to this week. Charaeva, on the other hand, has put together a 13-7 record on clay. The Russian youngster will be favored to win this match since she has outperformed Parry on clay so far.

Winner: Alina Charaeva
