All 102+ mph pitches in Jacob Misiorowski’s MLB history-making 1st inning vs Yankees

Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski has been one of the most watchable pitchers in the league since his MLB debut last season. The Brewers flamethrower lived up to his reputation after a historic performance against the New York Yankees on Friday.

Misiorowski made his eighth start of the season against the Yankees and made his intentions clear by throwing a 102.4 mph fastball to start the game. It was the slowest pitch of the inning as the Brewers ace threw eight pitches over 103 mph.

The All-Star ace breached Jordan Hicks’ fastest pitch by a starter (103.2 mph fastball) seven times during the breathtaking first inning.

Misiorowski displayed impeccable command over his fastballs as forty-one of his 95 pitches went 100 mph or higher. Misiorowski registered a season-high 11 strikeouts and held the Yankees scoreless by allowing two hits and two walks over six innings.

His dominant start ended after consecutive strikeouts of Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger. The Brewers’ hitters backed their ace to register a 6-0 win against the AL East leaders.

Aaron Boone acknowledged Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski’s dominant start in shutout loss

Jacob Misiorowski’s historic performance ended the Yankees’ hopes of a second consecutive win. Yankees skipper Aaron Boone acknowledged the Brewers ace’s dominance and outlined the trait that troubled the hitters.

“Obviously he was good and got a lead and was able to get after it,” Boone said. “It’s that lower slot that he has and gets the extension, almost more so than the velocity. I thought there were a couple times we were getting some good at-bats against him and controlling the zone a little bit. But he had that big lead and got after it pretty good.”

The Yankees lineup had scored at least seven runs in six of its last seven games but had no answers against the Brewers ace. They were held scoreless after outscoring opponents 123-52 in the previous 19 games.
