Travis Scott ‘Released With No Charges’ After Paris Arrest

After a 24-hour detainment, rapper likely won’t face charges related to alleged altercation with hotel security guard

Travis Scott will not face any charges stemming from his arrest Friday in Paris, where the rapper allegedly had an altercation with a hotel security guard.

A rep for the rapper told Rolling Stone in a statement Saturday, “Travis Scott has been released with no charges.”

A statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office previously  said that police were called to the Georges V hotel early Friday morning to arrest a man “nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard” (Scott’s real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II). The guard was allegedly trying to stop a separate altercation between Scott and his own bodyguard.

No injuries were documented in either altercation, and after a 24-hour hold by Paris police, Scott was released from jail without being charged; no charges are expected in the future, a sources close to the situation told Rolling Stone.

The sources added that Scott was upset with his bodyguard for not adequately protecting him amid the constant crush of paparazzi that the rapper has experienced while in Paris for the 2024 Olympics; on social media, there are videos of Scott trying to evade the paparazzi, even lobbying for help from Parisian police during one incident:

Scott’s arrest occurred after he attended the U.S. mens basketball team’s game against Serbia in the semifinals. Team USA advanced to today’s gold medal game against France, which Scott can now also attend following his release.
