NY Rangers Game 31 Open Thread: Rangers vs Vegas

The Rangers entered their gauntlet week after their worst game of the year at home against Tampa, and the expectations were low. But after five points in three games, including strong wins over Ottawa and Dallas before grabbing a point against Colorado, the Rangers have flipped the script. They have been playing sustainable two way hockey. This is the Rangers turning a corner (hopefully), and it could be a sign of things to come.

The Rangers made a slight change to how they’ve approached breakouts, or perhaps this is just better execution. Look for more support low on breakouts, which has helped a blue line that doesn’t move the puck well. This adjustment on the breakout led to Conor Sheary’s breakaway goal yesterday.
