NY Rangers Game 30 Open Thread: Rangers vs Colorado

The Rangers have won five of their last six games, with all five wins coming off strong efforts. The one game in the middle is the one that broke many, the Tampa game, but it appears that was the blip and not the five wins in six games. But now the NHL’s best team comes to MSG for a matinee matchup. That’s a triple whammy for the Rangers: home game, matinee matchup, and a top team. This is a big test for the Rangers, and a strong showing might even be more important than the two points. Skating with and/or beating the best in the NHL goes a long way for confidence building.

The Rangers made a slight change to how they’ve approached breakouts, or perhaps this is just better execution. Look for more support low on breakouts, which has helped a blue line that doesn’t move the puck well. This could be a fun game, or it could be a Tampa game. Let’s hope for the former.
