The Rangers won a game the other day. If they win today, it’s called “two in a row.” If they win again tomorrow, that’s called a winning streak. It has happened before.
Standing before them is a difficult to play against and much more than the sum of their parts LA Kings team. Anze Kopitar aside, most of their lineup consists of middle of the lineup players. Think the early-2010s Rangers, just without the goaltending and with far better structure. The Kings are a good team and are playing well.
The Rangers will be without K’Andre Miller now, and Connor Mackey will replace him in the top-four. The blue line needs some work, even beyond the obvious need to trade Ryan Lindgren. They need a major upgrade, and they need one fast.
