Halloween has arrived at “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos did their annual costume changing event to celebrate the spooky holiday on Thursday’s broadcast of their morning talk show.
The “Only Halloween in the Building” special featured numerous pop culture-related costumes.
Ripa, 54, and Consuelos, 53, started the episode dressed as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, respectively, from when the latter couple attended the US Open last month.
Ripa donned Swift’s red-and-white checkered dress and matched her oval-shaped black sunglasses and brown sandals.
Consuelos wore Kelce’s polo shirt, cardigan and beige shorts with a Gucci bucket hat. He completed the look with a fake mustache.
Ripa and Consuelos teased their Taylor and Travis-inspired costume before the episode.
“Nobody gives less Taylor vibes than me,” Ripa admitted to USA Today. “I’ve known Taylor Swift since she was a young teenager and first appeared on our show many, many, many years ago. And she’s been on our show many times, and in every era of her life. She is just as charming and divine and delightful, and all of the things that you think she is for all of these years.”
She added: “I can’t capture the essence of that in a very brief clip of her dancing at the US Open, but I did my best to at least not embarrass her on behalf of both of us.”
In the next segment, Ripa and Consuelos transformed into Lady Deadpool and Deadpool as they interviewed Joey Fatone, who dressed as Wolverine. The trio were paying homage to “Deadpool and Wolverine” starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
Later, Ripa and Consuelos put on their best musical talents while replicating Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ looks from their new song “Die with a Smile.” They wore the matching blue and red outfits and attempted to perform the song together.
The couple then changed into costumes as Joker and Harley Quinn from the “Joker” sequel that bombed at the box office. They both rocked full faces of makeup and red jackets to portray Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix’s DC characters.
They stayed in the “Joker 2” costumes as several audience members competed in the Halloween contest.
Ripa and Consuelos also dressed up as characters from “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “Inside Out 2” and “Only Murders in the Building” during the special.
Ripa compared her annual Halloween special to hosting “Saturday Night Live.”
“I hosted ‘SNL’ once in my life, and I always say our Halloween show is the closest thing to hosting ‘SNL’ that there is to actually hosting ‘SNL,’” she told USA Today. “You come out, you do your live opening bit, then you throw to a taped piece. You run backstage while that taped piece is playing, then they go to commercial break. You’ve got the taped piece and two minutes to change hair, makeup, wardrobe, costume, everything. You’ve got a very small window of time to get back out there and do the next segment. And that’s how the show runs.”
“Live with Kelly and Mark” airs weekdays on ABC at 9 a.m ET.
