LinkedIn has rolled out a new option to add an auto-revolving slideshow of images as the banner on your profile, which could be another way to attract more interest to your LinkedIn presence.
As you can see in this example, a new “Create Slideshow” option is now available in the banner editing tools for LinkedIn Premium users.
Yes, it’s a paid-only feature at this stage, but for those who have upgraded, it could be an attractive option to help show off more of your personality, skills and/or projects.
As explained by LinkedIn:
“Your LinkedIn cover image is a great tool to visually express who you are, whether it’s your personality, interests, business, or brand. For entrepreneurs and business owners, it’s an excellent opportunity to showcase more about your offering in a compelling way. Today, we’re excited to introduce a new feature for Premium Business subscribers to make this even better: dynamic cover images. You can now select up to five photos to create a rotating slideshow on your Profile. This is designed to help professionals make a stronger first impression, whether you’re a freelancer showcasing your services, a real estate agent highlighting current listings, or a designer spotlighting recent projects.”
The images scroll through every few seconds, giving it a more animated feel while showcasing all of your various cover images to visitors.
It’s not a major change, and I’m guessing that most profile visitors probably aren’t lingering on your profile header for too long either way, as the info they really want is further down, in your experience sections.
But it’s another element to consider, which could enhance the appeal of your LinkedIn presence.
LinkedIn says that the feature is being rolled out to Premium Business subscribers globally over the next few weeks.
If you’re looking to give your LI profile a spruce up for 2025, it could be worth upgrading to Premium to maximize your options.
LinkedIn Premium Business also comes with AI profile assistance features, a custom button option for your profile CTA, and other featured profile content. More information here.
