Gunther humiliates AJ Styles’ former tag team partner in a tense moment on RAW

Gunther’s first feud after retiring AJ Styles has officially been confirmed, and it just so happens to be The Phenomenal One’s tag team partner, who The Ring General humiliated on RAW in a vicious attack.

It should come as no surprise to you that Gunther not only came out to AJ Styles’ music and had a big graphic on the titantron calling him the “Career Killer”. It’s a moniker that he has been proud of carrying, and he now added Styles to the list of careers he ended after Goldberg and John Cena (the latter of whom was retiring anyway). Either way, The Ring General decided to mock the crowd and boast about it, but he was soon cut off by AJ Styles‘ former tag team partner, Dragon Lee.

Dragon Lee came out and began to assault Gunther, but unfortunately for the man who last held a Championship with Styles, his night would end with a rear-naked choke as he was taken out. It looked like he would get out and get the better of the Career Killer, but that didn’t happen.

So as things stand, it looks like the immediate first feud for the Ring General post-Styles will be against Dragon Lee. It’s likely to be a television feud that will happen exclusively on RAW. As for what the road to WrestleMania holds for the Austrian, it’s going to be interesting to see. For the second time in four editions, he was the runner-up for the Royal Rumble match. The first time, it was Cody Rhodes who took him out to win, while this time, it was The OTC, Roman Reigns.

Either way, it didn’t pan out for Dragon Lee. It’s going to be interesting to see what the road to WrestleMania looks like for the 2-time World Heavyweight Champion.
