This presentation will take place on Friday, January 3rd, at 7 pm at Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa, NY.

The need to keep oneself warm during the winter months is nothing new and was a challenge that people also faced in the 18th century. By looking at original and replica garments, as well as artwork from the era, participants will discover the materials, construction techniques and fashionable styles of outerwear for men and women.

The event is free and open to the public, though donations are always welcome. (In case of inclement weather, please check with Brookside Museum).

As a proprietor of Historical Services, Henry Cooke works as a tailor to create authentic clothing from the past. His primary customers are reenactors and museums. Since learning to sew at the age of five, he has delved into the world of 18th century tailoring, learning from original garments as well as documents in archives and museums.

This event has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of the 24th Regiment of Foot in North America and is supported by the Campaign for Saratoga 250, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to highlighting the importance of the Saratoga Region during the American Revolution.

The Saratoga County History Center at Brookside Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the diverse histories of Saratoga County, NY. The History Center offers a variety of programming.

Brookside Museum is located at 21 Fairground Avenue in Ballston Spa at the intersection of Front Street, Fairground Avenue, and Charlton Street.
