Brian Cage has been missing from AEW programming for some time now due to injury. The Machine could be on the cusp of making his return to the Tony Khan-led promotion, however, and he looks physically primed for his comeback in his latest social media photos.
Brian Cage has not been in action inside the squared circle since he suffered an injury back in March of 2025. The Don Callis Family member has undergone multiple surgeries for his knee in recent months, and has kept fans updated on his gruelling rehabilitation process throughout.
Weeks ago on social media, Cage teased his imminent return to AEW television at some point this year. The former FTW and ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champion seems to be absolutely ready and poised for his comeback in his latest gym pics, which he posted around an hour ago on Instagram.
“These wheels are coming back and rolling into the ring. Comeback Cage, soon soon soon.” – said the caption of the post.
Cage revealed a couple of months ago that he had been working on his rehab with WCW veteran Crowbar.
AEW’s Brian Cage remains tight-lipped on his return
The last time Brian Cage was seen in action inside an All Elite Wrestling ring was on AEW Collision: Slam Dunk Saturday, which aired on March 22 last year. Alongside his fellow Don Callis Family members Konosuke Takeshita and Lance Archer, the “Swolverine” took on and defeated Powerhouse Hobbs, Mark Briscoe and Rocky Romero in trios competition.
While he has been teasing his return for some time now, Cage remained close-lipped on any specific plans regarding his comeback during his interview with Nick Teodoro this past December.
“I also told them I didn’t want to know when I was coming back. So I don’t have a perfect, exact date. I know when I think I’ll come back. I know when I want to come back. But I’m going to keep that under wraps, that way nobody has any idea, and I’ll come back when I come back.” [H/T- Ringside News]
In the same interview, the 42-year-old powerhouse described his ongoing recovery process to be “some of the most painful rehab” he has ever done.
