AEW and Tony Schiavone pay emotional tribute to WWE veteran Dennis Condrey after his passing

To begin tonight’s special episode of AEW Collision, Tony Schiavone, on behalf of the promotion, made an emotional tribute to WWE legend Dennis Condrey. This comes following his recent passing.

A few days ago, Dax Harwood shared the unfortunate news on Instagram that one of the wrestlers he looked up to, and one of the founders of Midnight Express, had passed. He also shared how he opened a GoFundMe for the veteran, and he vowed to always keep the legacy of one of the greatest tag teams of all time alive.

AEW Collision this weekend has been split into two shows, with the second of these airing tonight right after NCAA March Madness. To begin the show, Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong were in tag team action against Jay Lethal and Lee Johnson.

Right before the match began, Tony Schiavone took a brief moment to honor Dennis Condrey, as he also spoke about getting the chance to work with him in the past. He paid his condolences to him on behalf of the company.

“We have a sad note to pass along. One of the greats of all time in pro-wrestling, Dennis Condrey of the Midnight Express, has just passed away. Had a chance to work with ‘Loverboy’ Dennis many, many years ago. On behalf of all of us in AEW, rest in peace.” said Schiavone.

Midnight Express is one of the pioneers of tag team wrestling, and several individuals, such as FTR, have been honoring the legacy they left behind. While there have been several renditions of the faction, Dennis Condrey will forever be remembered as its founding member.

We at Sportskeeda offer our condolences to the bereaved.
