- DraftKings Predictions will now feature player-specific event contracts on the NFL and the NBA.
- Company said it is teaming up with Crypto.com
- That partnership paves the way for expansion on DraftKings Predictions, including political derivatives
DraftKings Predictions, said today it is partnering with Crypto.com to bring player-specific sports event contracts to the gaming company’s prediction markets platform.

Working with Crypto.com’s Derivatives North America (CDNA) unit, DraftKings’ newly launched prediction market will offer what amount to be player proposition wagers in yes/no form. The focus will be on NFL and NBA player-specific event contracts and those new offerings could pave the way for DraftKings Predictions to significantly expand its menu, potentially including political derivatives.
In addition to the wider scope of sports prediction markets, Crypto.com is expected to support DraftKings Predictions’ introduction of new event contract categories, including culture, entertainment, and politics. Additionally, DraftKings Predictions will integrate Railbird Exchange in the coming months, further strengthening its offering,” according to a statement.
DraftKings Predictions debuted in 38 states, including plenty where sports betting is prohibited, in December.
Leagues May Not Be Pleased with DraftKings, Crypto.com
Wagers on how many points an NBA will score or how many yards an NFL quarterback will throw for are popular with bettors and that clearly isn’t lost on DraftKings and Crypto.com.
However, bringing player props to prediction markets in the current environment may invite scrutiny. The announcement arrives just months after an NBA betting scandal involving Terry Rozier allegedly working with organized crime figures to alter prop bets was unearthed.
That scandal and the one involving Cleveland Guardians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase are among the reasons leagues and some state regulators are looking for ways to strengthen protocols around player prop bets and it’s unlikely prediction markets are desired in that equation.
The NFL has voiced some concern about the regulatory aspects of prediction markets. Conversely, leagues such as Major League Soccer (MLS) and the NHL have embraced event contract platforms. For example, the NHL has marketing deals with both Kalshi and Polymarket.
DraftKings Predictions Expanding Sports Menu
The partnership with Crypto.com will help DraftKings Predictions boost the number of sports event contracts available to clients in states where those derivatives are available, tapping into CDNA’s status as one of the pioneers in the sports derivatives arena.
“As part of this expansion, DraftKings Predictions adds breadth across sports prediction markets in the states where the product is available, spanning soccer, MMA, golf, boxing, tennis, and the Olympic Games, to complement the existing sports and financial markets provided by CME Group,” according to the press release.
California, Florida, Georgia, and Texas are among the states where DraftKings Predictions offers sports event contracts. Of that quartet, only Florida allows mobile sports betting, but it’s entirely controlled by Hard Rock.
