23XI Racing makes big announcement on Corey Heim’s NASCAR Cup Series role

23XI Racing has announced a plethora of Cup Series starts for reigning Truck Series champion Corey Heim. The 23-year-old is slated for 12 starts in the sport’s top division.

As 23XI’s development driver, Heim competed in five Cup Series races last year. He scored his best finish of sixth at Bristol Motor Speedway and came close to another top-10 finish at Kansas.

This time around, Heim is set for an extended schedule, including the Daytona 500, Kansas, Texas, Charlotte, Nashville, San Diego, Chicagoland, Indianapolis, Daytona, Darlington, Charlotte, and the finale at Homestead-Miami.

NASCAR reporter Claire B. Lang shared the update on X, writing,

“23XI Racing announced today that @CoreyHeim_who joined the team last year as its first development driver, will compete in an increased number of NASCAR Cup Series races during the 2026 season.”

In an official team release, Corey Heim shared that he was ‘excited and honoured’ to continue with 23XI Racing. Team owner Denny Hamlin expressed that Heim is being prepped for a potential full-time drive in the future.

Ever since Heim was announced for the Daytona 500, fans have been clamouring for a full-time ride. He’ll attempt the Great American Race alongside seven other open entries, including former Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier, Anthony Alfredo, Casey Mears, B.J. McLeod, JJ Yeley, Corey LaJoie, and Chandler Smith.

Heim had a record-setting 2025 season with 12 wins from 25 starts. He was the only full-time driver to record zero DNFs, while he fell out of the top-5 only six times.

23XI Racing announces major sponsorship backing for Corey Heim

23XI Racing recently announced Robinhood as Corey Heim and Bubba Wallace’s sponsor for the Daytona 500. The brand has already sponsored Wallace in the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, and will continue to do so at select races this year.

The team shared the news in an official press release.

“Building on the momentum of last year, this renewed partnership reflects the strong foundation we’ve created together,” said Steve Quirk, Chief Brokerage Officer at Robinhood Markets. “We’re proud to support Bubba Wallace, Corey Heim, and the entire 23XI team as they compete this season and bring the Robinhood brand to life on track.”

Last year, Corey Heim failed to qualify for the Chicago Street Race owing to a bent toe link. He took responsibility for causing the issue and bowed out of the race. With a tightly set field, Heim can no longer afford such mistakes in his first year without a full-time seat.
