This is a moment a plane aborted landing due to intense winds from cyclone Fengal Storm.
The IndiGo flight faced heavy rain and gusty winds as it came to land at Chennai airport in Tamil Nadu, India, on Saturday.
The pilot was forced to climb back into the stormy skies after aborting landing just feet above the runway.
IndiGo later confirmed the aircraft performed a “go-around” – a standard safety procedure when conditions make a landing unsafe.
The airline said in a statement: “This is a standard and safe maneuver and our pilots are extensively trained to handle such situations with utmost professionalism.”
The aircraft eventually landed safely at 12:40 pm, shortly before Chennai Airport closed operations for the day due to the cyclone’s impact.
