A Tribute to Alice Green Set For Sunday, Sept 29th


Dr. Alice Paden GreenDr. Alice Paden GreenDr. Alice Paden Green, who died suddenly in Albany on Tuesday, August 20, was founder and executive director of The Center for Law and Justice and worked for decades fighting for civil rights and racial justice in Albany and across New York. She was also an accomplished writer who told her authentic story in books, essays, articles, speeches, and letters to the editor.

She grew up in Witherbee, NY, in Northern New York and was a strong advocate for making the Adirondacks a more welcoming place for all people.

This Sunday, September 29, friends, family and admirers of Dr. Green will pay tribute to her work as author, advocate, and civil rights champion at the Palace Theatre in Albany, beginning at 4 pm (doors open at 3 pm).

The event is free and open to the public. The Palace Theatre is located at 19 Clinton Avenue, in Albany.

Donations are encouraged and will benefit the Dr. Alice P. Green Memorial Fund, The Center for Law and Justice, The Alice Moore Black Arts and Cultural Program, and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at the University at Albany. ​
