Meet Dr. Leigh | Edina Plastic Surgery

Meet Dr. Leigh, both inside and outside the operating room! Dr. Leigh has been with Edina Plastic Surgery for over 25 years. He’s a lover of nature, particularly dogs. After rescuing his Pomeranian, Wicket, Dr. Leigh opened his home to foster rescue dogs who didn’t have anywhere else.

Dr. Leigh is a fourth-generation physician. He always knew he wanted to be a surgeon and when he was exposed to plastic surgery in medical school, he knew he was home. Says Dr. Leigh, “the gratification that I get from working with rescue dogs translates very nicely to the practice of plastic surgery … it’s precise, it’s artistic, it’s creative, and the bonus is I get to help people.”

Dr. Leigh earned a bachelor degree from Iowa State University and began medical school at the University of North Dakota before finishing at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He did general surgery at Wake Forest University hospitals and plastic surgery residency at University of Tennessee Erlanger Medical center as well as a fellowship at the University of Southern California plastic surgery program in Los Angeles.

Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Leigh has been named a “Top Doctor” by Minneapolis St.Paul Magazine for many years. He has also received the national Patients’ Choice Award, an award bestowed multiple times to Dr. Leigh in recognition for his excellent patient care and high ratings from grateful patients.

To stay current with the latest medical innovations and treatments, Dr. Leigh is a member of American College of Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Hennepin County Medical Society and Minnesota Medical Association.
